This picture makes me think of two other images.

Anybody who's seen the movie Pi will know what I'm talking about. (see the movie's homepage here


The main character, Max Cohen, attempts to understand the full complexity of the world - every single arrow and path - in terms of math, a kind of grand unified theory of everything. The movie is about how this affects him, the choices he makes. The end is great.

The other image this makes me thing of is The Scream by Edvard Munch.



Sometimes when I see this picture I think that is an everyman's reaction to complexity - the infinite number of variables we must cope with.
